Kevin Teaffe FitzPatrick, 88, of Bristol, Rhode Island died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on March 23, 2024.

The second of five boys born to John F. and Elizabeth FitzPatrick, he was raised in Depression-Era Boston, living first in Roslindale, and then moving to Charlestown as a young teen. After graduating from Boston English High School, Kevin joined the U. S. Army serving in the 7th Army Aerial Reconnaissance Support Company in Kaiserslautern, Germany. On weekend leaves he explored Europe by train, cultivating a life-long interest in history and photography. Upon returning to the States he became a proud Double Eagle, earning his undergraduate degree (1961) and MBA (1964) at Boston College.

Kevin married Carol Crowley, the girl-next-door, and together they raised their family in Westwood, MA. Kevin had a distinguished 35-year career at the Boston Public Library, serving as Assistant to the Director for Business and Publishing Services. For 25 of those years, he was also an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University, teaching undergraduate and graduate Finance courses at night.

A quiet gentleman, Kevin enjoyed life-long friendships with people from the Pemberton Improvement Association in Hull, MA; Catholic Alumni in Boston; Knights of Columbus in Canton, MA; and American Legion Post 320 in Westwood, MA. His carefree side was reserved for his children and their friends, especially the Seagles Swim Team gang at Boston College. After completing all carpool duties, he took up golf and enjoyed a retirement spent with old and new friends on the links, attending his grandson's many school and sports events, and traveling with friends and family.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carol; his daughter Maura and her husband Jeffrey Sklarz, of Barrington, RI; his son Kevin and his partner Katherine Pacia, of Charlestown, MA; and his beloved grandson Edward "Ted" Sklarz of Providence, RI. He loved to laugh and enjoyed all gatherings with his brothers and their families: John (deceased) and Denise FitzPatrick of Billerica, MA; Brendon and Kathleen FitzPatrick of Jamaica Plain, MA; Dermot and Mary Francis (deceased) FitzPatrick of Falmouth, MA; and Ronan and Mary FitzPatrick of Charlestown, MA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Bay, 645 Main Street, Warren, RI. Burial to follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Kevin's memory to Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice, 438 East Main Road, Suite 100, Middletown, RI 02842.
