Kevin Watson

Kevin Watson, 55, of Jepson Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died at John Clarke Nursing Home on Monday, October 24, 2011.He was the son of the late George and Pauline Watson. Born in Newport, RI on April 30, 1956, Kevin attended Newport schools and Rogers High school. He enlisted in the US Army and served for three years. Kevin was then employed as a material specialist for Raytheon for over 20 years. He was also a van driver for Cozy Cab taking many passengers to and from Green Airport.Kevin enjoyed collecting sports cards and memorabilia. He was an avid competitor at darts and was a member of the Newport Elks, Lodge 273. Kevin will always be remembered for his big smile and kind heart and as a loving brother and uncle. He is survived by his sisters Marjorie Spence of Portsmouth, and Eleanor Watson of Newport, his brothers Michael Watson of Newport, and Charles Watson and his wife Theresa of Pawcatuck, CT, his niece Bethany Webster of Northampton, MA, his nephew Joshua Watson of New Haven, CT, and his aunt Mary Lou Santos of Bristol, RI, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 Noon in funeral home.
