Klaire LaNelle Medeiros

Klaire LaNelle (nee Johnson) Medeiros was born in Rosendale, Mo. to Frank E. Jr. and Anna Johnson on June 20th 1934 the youngest of 5 children. She was the youngest and last remaining child of Frank and Anna Johnson. Klaire grew up on a farm in northwest Missouri. She attended elementary and high school in Rosendale. She went to Northwest Missouri College for her Baccalaureate degree in Education. She later attended Northwest Missouri College and Providence College and received her master's in education. After graduating from college for her BA she worked for Trans World Airline (TWA) in Kansas City and then transferred to Boston. While an employee at TWA she traveled extensively around the world. In Boston she met John P. Medeiros, her lifelong husband and partner. John and Klaire were married in 1958 and were married for 66 years. They welcomed their first daughter Susan L. Medeiros in August of 1959 and their second daughter Jonna C. Reed (nee Medeiros) in August of 1961.
Klaire was an elementary school teacher, a substance abuse counselor, and a private school administrator throughout her life. She held a strong work ethic and even after she retired, she worked part time until she was 80 years old. She was a vibrant, fun loving, adventurous, well traveled, mother and grandmother to 4 children, Alexander Cranshaw of NY, Hannah Snow of Fla., Jonathan Cranshaw of NY and Mackenzie Reed of Ca. and 5 great grandchildren.
Besides her career she enjoyed needlework, Swedish weaving, restoring furniture, reading, crossword puzzles, singing in the St. Mary's choir and the Swanhurst chorus.
