Lauren Ann Furtado Atwood, 46, of 248 Deer Run Road, Tiverton, RI, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of Robert Atwood of Tiverton, RI. Born in Fall River, MA, on November 29, 1958, she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Cavaca Furtado of Tiverton, Rhode Island.Mrs. Atwood was a registered nurse with Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island for 3 years. She had worked at Metacom Manor Nursing Home in Bristol for 2 years and had been director of Nursing at Village House Nursing Home in Newport for 10 years. She graduated from the Newport Hospital School of Nursing.Besides her husband of twenty three years and her parents, she is survived by her daughter Patricia Lynn Atwood of Tiverton, RI, her brother Michael J. Furtado of Tiverton, RI, three sisters Sandra L. Furtado of Tiverton, RI, Melissa M. Nestor of Fall River, MA, and Melanie J. Furtado of Tiverton, RI, three nephews Ryan J. Nestor and Tyler P. Nestor both of Fall River, MA, and Dylan Furtado of Tiverton, RI, her niece Taylor Furtado of Tiverton, RI, and her Grandmother Josephine Cavaca of Tiverton, RI.Her funeral will be held Monday, September 19, 2005 at 9:00AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton, RI.Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA.Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4-7PM in the Connors Funeral Home.Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Home Hospice Care of Rhode Island Foundation, P.O.
