Portsmouth, RI - Lawrence Eugene Taylor, 64, of 760 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, September 12, 2008 at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston, MA. He was the husband of Rose Elise Weyhgandt Taylor. Born in Quincy, MA on July 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Laurence Melvin and Marion Stone Taylor.Lawrence Taylor honorably served in the United States Navy retiring in 1987, as a Senior Chief after 24 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked for the United States Post Office in Portsmouth as a rural carrier for 16 years. He has been a member of the North Tiverton Baptist church for the past 11 years. Besides his wife of 29 years, he is survived by his children, James Joseph Taylor and his wife Lillian Yvonne Fernandez of Tiverton, RI, John David Taylor of Portsmouth, RI, Laurence Walter Taylor of Chicago, IL, Michael Alexander Taylor of Cottonwood, AZ, Luke Morgan Taylor of Portsmouth, RI and Hilda-Mae Prescott Taylor of Portsmouth, RI, his brother James Stone Taylor of Fall River, MA and his grandchildren, Kobe James Taylor, Titus Joseph Taylor, Moses Eugene Taylor, Noah Daniel Taylor and Keegan William James Taylor. His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 11:00 am in North Tiverton Baptist Church, 331 Main Road, Tiverton. Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008, from 6-9 in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
