Bristol, RI - Lawrence Patrick Davis, passed away on December 7, 2009, when struck by a motorist while walking his family dogs.Lawrence Larry Patrick Davis was born to John Michael Davis and Caroline Elizabeth Wellbaum Davis on February 17, 1938 in New York City, NY. His childhood days were spent in Chardon, Ohio. Larry was most proud of the Ohio Buckeyes as a graduate of Ohio State. He served in the US Army before starting his business career with Kaiser Aluminum. He was successful in many different businesses in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area. He enjoyed flying, golf, sailing, studying his Catholic religion and being the best that he could be in this life. He was employed in the gaming industry for the past nine years. His experience in this industry was especially rewarding, he thrived in the presence of his Native American colleagues who he loved dearly. He was especially proud of his childrens educational and career successes, which included four college graduates who today lead their respective professional fields. In 1962 Larry married Judith Julie Pflum Davis.Larry will be fervently missed by his family; wife Julie, his daughter, Kathryn Bodnar and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh, PA, his sons: L. Patrick Davis Esq. of Arlington, TX, Scott Davis and his wife, Tonya Michel, of Denver, CO, Vincent Davis and his partner, Scotty Jones, of Orlando, FL, his brother, Tom Davis and his wife, Barbara, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, his mother-in-law, Julie Pflum, of Tiverton, RI, three nieces, three nephews and three grandsons, Austen Davis Lunt, Spencer John Lunt of Pittsburgh, PA, Kannon Urban Davis and his only granddaughter, Quinn Anne Davis of Denver, CO. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 3:00 pm at The Columban Fathers Retirement Home, 65 Ferry Road, Bristol, RIReception to follow at Sakonnet Bay Manor, 1215 Main Road, Tiverton, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Potter League for Animals.
