Lena Amaral

Portsmouth, RI - Lena Peters Amaral, Portsmouth, RI, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Amaral. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Delia Peters. Mrs. Amaral moved to Aquidneck Island in 1975. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church and was a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter Shelley Amaral of Portsmouth, three step-children, Diana Lewis of West Warwick, Joseph Amaral and his wife Jane of Orlando, Florida and Wayne Amaral and his wife Donna of Coventry and six step-grandchildren. Mrs. Amaral is also survived by her sister Terri Villano of Brooklyn, NY, her dear niece Delia Schultz and her family of Simi Valley, CA and her devoted cousin Rose Selly and her husband John of Bristol.She was the sister of the late Manuel, Antonio and Edmund Peters, Mary Della Ventura, Lucille Alexander, Margaret Rosa and Jean Dutra. She will be greatly missed by her caring and loving friends. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 9:00am, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am, in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008, from 4-8pm, in the funeral home.
