Leroy Milton Jennings

Portsmouth, RI - Leroy M. Jennings, 85, of 11 Ann Court, Middletown, RI, formerly of Lebanon, MO 36 Education Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Carmelita Margaret Knight Jennings.Born in Stoutland, MO on July 8, 1921, he was the son of the late Leroy and Edith Walker Jennings.Mr. Jennings served in the United States Army during World War II. Leroy was a member of the Portsmouth United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and boater.He is survived by his children Joseph Jennings of Newport, RI, John Jennings of Guilderland, NY, Mary Therese Jennings of Middletown, RI, Linda Pickering of Lebanon, MO, and Patricia E. Costakos of Middletown, RI, his sister Edith Mildred Johnson of Springfield, MO and nine grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning, from 8-9 in the Connors Funeral Home
