Leslye Marilyn Gammons Brawley

Leslye Marilyn Brawley, 89, of Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry N. Brawley.Born in Wakefield, MA on June 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary McGrath Gammons. Leslye grew up in Wakefield, and upon marriage to Henry, they moved to Middletown, RI, where they raised their family. She had a quiet demeanor, and was a loving wife and mother.She is survived by three daughters Marjorie Fitzgerald of Newport, RI, Susan Blakely of Portsmouth, RI, and Nancy Joslyn of Newport, RI, and five grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Joslyn, Lindsay and Stephen Blakely, and Ryan Fitzgerald, and five great grandchildren; as well as two sisters Polly Berrgeren and Carolyn Jones, both of Wakefield, MA. She was preceded in death by her siblings Calvin Gammons, Thomas Gammons and Marjorie Norris.A private burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery in her hometown of Wakefield, MA.
