Lillian Barton

Lillian B. Dunbar Carroll Barton, 91, of 191 Forest Avenue Middletown, died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Patrick Albert Carroll and the late Eugene F. Barton. Born in Tiverton, RI on Aug. 29, 1913, she was the daughter of Henry E. Dunbar and Mary A. Robbins Dunbar. Mrs. Barton worked in the jewelery industry in Providence until her marriage to Mr. Barton. She then worked along side her husband in their various restaurant businesses. In 1974 she and Mr. Barton helped their son start the Bayside Restaurant in Westport, MA and she continued to work there for 20 years.She was a member of the Edward King House Senior Center and former member of the Catholic Daughters of America.. She is survived by Maureen Dyer of Bristol, RI, Son Robert E. Carroll of Westport, MA, Sister Ruth Kunesh of St. Paul, MN, and 6 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren.She was the Grandmother of the late Thomas E. Dyer and sister of the late William Dunbar, Edgar Dunbar, Henry Nelson Dunbar, Charles Dunbar, Howard I. Dunbar, Charlotte Hackett and Ellen Hearson. Her funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
