Tiverton, RI - Lillian Evelyn Pat Souza, 90, of 58 Cottage Avenue, Tiverton, RI, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Antone D. Souza. Born in Fall River, MA on December 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Roseanna Lavoie Tremblay.Mrs. Souza was a seamstress for over 45 years for various clothing manufacturing companies of Fall River. She was a communicant of St. Christophers Church and a member the Womens Guild. She contributed to the Easter egg hunt as well as other church functions and dinners. Mrs. Souza was involved with many charitable groups in the church along with saving the can tops for the Kidney Foundation and the grocery receipts for the church. She is survived by her daughter Constance Florence Dube Fleckenstein of Tiverton, RI, her grandchildren Cynthia Marie Wing of Swansea, MA, Donna Rooks of Montgomery, AL and Christin Ann Mello of Tiverton, RI, her great grandchildren, Jeffrey Rooks of Montgomery, AL and Misty Lee Reis of Fairhaven, MA and several nieces and nephews.She was the mother of the late Leona Dube, the sister of the late Roland Pete Tremblay, Norman Tremblay, Edgar Tremblay, Irene Tremblay Somney and Rhea Tremblay LaSalle and the great grandmother of the late Jonathan Rooks. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 8:30 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Christophers Church, 1584 Main Road, Tiverton. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, from 6-8 in the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 Richmond Street, Suite 108, Providence, RI 02903 or to St. Christophers Church, 1584 Main Road, Tiverton, RI 02878.
