Middletown, RI - Linda Marie (DeConto) Cavaca Parsons, 64, of Middletown, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 peacefully at home. She was the wife of George "Skip" Parsons of Middletown, RI and the former wife of Roger Cavaca of North Kingstown, RI. Born in Newport, RI on May 14, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Vincent DeConto and Dorothy (Spence) Fielding. Linda was born and raised in Newport and worked as a hairdresser in the area for 25 years. Linda was a devoted grandmother who lived and breathed for her children and grandchildren. She also loved her animals, especially her dog "LuLu" Louis Vuitton. Mrs. Parsons was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Roger J. Cavaca of Tiverton, RI, and Michelle L. Cavaca of Middletown, RI, and her step children John James Parsons, Troy Alan Parsons, Timothy Colin Parsons, and Shawn Kelley Parsons, as well as her brothers Curtis Fielding of Palm Bay, FL and Albert DeConto of Portsmouth, RI and her numerous grandchildren. A casual Life Remembrance service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Masonic Lodge, 81 Sprague Street, Portsmouth, RI.
