Portsmouth, RI - Lloyd Allison Mosher, 95, of 54 Silvania Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Anna S. Vargas Mosher.Born in Newport, RI on September 3, 1915, he was the son of the late Erford and Cornelia Hull Mosher.Mr. Mosher served in the US. Navy for 25 years and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. After his service, he worked in the Newport Shipyard for 7 years before founding his own marine repair company called P M, Inc. He retired in 1979. Mr. Mosher was a former member of the Knights of Columbus the Portsmouth Grange and was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church.Besides his wife of 74 years, he is survived by his son Ronald L Mosher of Harrison, ME, his son Gerald L. Mosher of Goose Creek, SC, his brother Chester Mosher of Newport, RI, his brother Donald Mosher of Newport, RI, his sister Phyllis Mulligan of Holton, ME, eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his sister, Nettie Mosher, and his brothers, Malcom Mosher, Leonard Mosher, Irving Mosher, Arthur Mosher, Earl Mosher, Milton Mosher, Erford Mosher, and Charles Mosher.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 8, at 9:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
