Loramae H. Silvia, 86, of Portsmouth passed away peacefully at her home January 25, 2013.She is survived by her husband Manuel Martin Silvia, Jr., her children, Karen R. Sparrow and Brian J. Hermenze of Pittston, ME, Mark J. Hermenze of Stratford, CT, and Mary Ann Kossak of Portsmouth, RI, three grandchildren, Jennifer A. Kossak of East Sussex, UK, Kyle M. Kossak and Leah R. Kossak of Portsmouth, RI, her sister Dorothy Anderson of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husbands Frederick J. Hermenze and David W. Bodge, and her brother Clifford W. Johnson.Loramae was born in 1926 in Willmar, MN to the late Wallace E. and Harriette M. (Thorstad) Johnson. She spent her childhood in Minnesota and left after high school with 3 friends for CT to work in aeronautics as a draftsman for Chance Vaught Aircraft after studying at the Academy of Aeronautics. Loramae loved to try everything and she was known to be non-judgmental and even-tempered. Reading, swimming, music, camping, ice skating, talking with people and dancing with her husband Manuel were at the top of her list. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. SERVICES HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED, Calling hours will be held on SUNDAY, February 10, 2013, from 11:00am-1:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a Memorial service at 1:00pm. Burial will be private. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
