Lorraine G. Johnson

Lorraine G. Johnson, 78, of Ranger Road, Newport, RI, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.Born in Lynn, MA on April 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Genevieve Gird Johnson.Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Middletown. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine K. Tribble and her husband Norris of Newport, Genevieve L. White of Fair Lawn, NJ, Stephanie C. Walmsley and her husband William of Newport, Jacqueline T. Sibya of Newport, and Korena L. Johnson of Newport; her caregiver, Mark Rossman of Newport; her grandchildren, Nicole Fernandez and her husband Julio, J. Scott Sibya, Nathan A. Sibya, Courtney K. Martin and her fiance Leon Williams, Tylor Walmsley, Trevor Walmsley, and Joseph T. Velilla and his wife Terra; and twelve great-grandchildren.She was the grandmother of the late William C. Walmsley, Jr. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 1:00 - 1:30 pm in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 177 Miantonomi Avenue, Middletown, RI with the funeral service beginning at 1:30 pm in the church.
