Lorraine Hedger

Bristol, - Lorraine Hedger, Passed away at age 81 on August 7, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Manor in Bristol, RI where she resided for the past eleven years.Lorraine worked as an office manager for Bonanza Bus Lines for 35 years. Before her illness, Lorraine had a zest for life and unlimited stores of energy which she spent ice skating, roller skating and playing with her grandchildren. She volunteered at the Portsmouth Senior Center for many years where she enjoyed organizing events and putting on shows, always trying to get a laugh from her audience. She looked forward to traveling to Texas in the RV with her husband Vernon during the winter months where she continued to organize events and entertain her "RV friends."Lorraine was preceded in death by her devoted husband Vernon Hedger, her brother Joseph Moniz and her loving daughter Susan Patricia Souza.She leaves to cherish her memories, her brothers Peter Moniz and Paul Moniz, as well as her step-daughters Dawn Marie Clarke, Debra Anne Hedger and son-in-law Ronald Souza. She lived for her grandchildren Stephanie Ann Nary, Steven Richard Souza, Meagen Claudia Wyatt and Benjamin Vernon Wyatt. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Raelin Susan Nary and Hunter Edward Nary.Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours, Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00PM in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12 at 9:00AM from the Connors Funeral, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
