Lorraine Passmore, 81, of Newport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on July 11, 2018.
Lorraine was born in Newport, RI to the late Manuel Soares and Mary Barboza. Lorraine was the wife of the late Warren Passmore.
Lorraine was a life long resident of Newport. She proudly worked at Newport Bay Hotel for 10 years and was a passionate member of Jehovah Witness.
In her spare time she loved to crochet baby blankets and sweater sets. When she wasnt crocheting for babies she would make them for animals in the Potter League. Lorraine also cherished her time completing crossword puzzles, adult coloring books and word searches.
Lorraine is survived by her son James Walaski, her daughters Debra Smith, Mary Macomber, Judith Walaski, Cathy Lohrman, her brothers James Soares, John Soares, and her sisters Dolores Post and Alice Taylor. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Emma Virgadamo.
In addition to her husband Warren, she was preceded in death by her sons Martin Walaski and Tommy Walaski and John Walaski, her brothers Manuel Soares and Arthur Soares, her sister Dorothy Hardy, and her great grandson Tyrell Walaski.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday July 19 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service immediately held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI 02840.
