Lorraine W. Temple

Middletown, - Lorraine Wood Temple, 88, of Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, formerly of 701 Hope Street, Bristol, RI and Blanchard Road, Cumberland Center, ME, died Friday, June 13, 2003 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late George H. Temple Sr.. Born in Leominster, MA on October 5, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Alice Burrage Wood. Mrs. Temple grew up in Brookline, MA where she was a 1934 graduate of Brookline High School. She was also a 1936 graduate of Erskin College in Boston, MA. She worked at MIT as an office assistant for a few years prior to her marriage. Mrs. Temple was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, and various choruss throughout the years in Maine and Massachusetts. She was a avid ski instructor and skier and also sang in numerous musicals and operas. She is survived by two sons Paul R. Temple of Bristol, RI, and Peter L. Temple of Harrisville, NH, and four grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Charles Wood and Ruth Biggs.A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, at 1pm, in the First Congregational Church Bristol, High Street, Bristol. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
