Louis A. Bellagamba

Louis A. Bellagamba, 83, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. He was the devoted husband of Mary A. (Lozito) Bellagamba. Born in Ridgefield, CT, he was the son of the late Alessandro and Annunziata (Cimarelli) Bellagamba.Lou was raised in Ridgefield, CT, and moved to Newport in 1962. He served in the Marine Corps in the early 1950s. He co-owned Bellagamba's Pizza on Broadway during the early 1960s. Lou went on to work for the Newport Music Company as a service technician for over 20 years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and for 20 years participated in their blood drives. Besides his wife of nearly 60 years, he leaves his children; Paul M. Bellagamba and his wife Laurie of Cheshire, CT, Barbara A. Bellagamba of Tiverton, Mary Lynn E. Adkins of Portsmouth, Joanne O. Bellagamba of Newport, Nancy B. Barruetabeaa and her husband Joseba of Middletown, Ellen Bellagamba Fucile and her husband Edward of Portsmouth, Gina L. Banks and her husband Timothy of Portsmouth and John R. Bellagamba of Middletown. Lou was the loving and devoted Papa of Corey Bellagamba, Stephen Bellagamba, Amanda Bellagamba, Allyson Linhares, Ariana Perry, Alex Adkins, Chris Adkins, Mikel Arambarri, Miren Arambarri, Julen Barruetabeaa, Jon Barruetabeaa, Naia Barruetabeaa, Max Bliss, John Bliss, Oren Banks, Bailey Nobrega, Emma Banks, Grace Banks, Sam Banks, Henry Banks, Noah Banks, Caleb Banks, Adam Banks, Thalia, Adkins, Oliver Nebrega, and Miles Linhares.Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, July, 2, 2015 at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown.Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
