Louis Edward Murphy, of Florissant, MO, 84. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Delmont Gardens North.Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Louis E. and Margaret W. (Wagner) Murphy.Lou is survived by his wife of 28 years, Camilla Robb (nee Russell) and his sons, Louis E. Murphy III (Tim), Michael Paul Murphy, Thomas Vernon Murphy, and daughters, Alyce (Frank) Hazard Kenney, Moira (Don) Ann Benzing, Mary Ellen Murphy, step-daughter Sandy Thompson, Deborah Hazard Murphy - Mother of his six children. Dear grandfather of DJ, Kelly, Kevin, Tracey, Justin, Sean, Heather, Richie and Alex. Dear great-grandfather of three, dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many. He was the brother of the late Frederick and Terence Murphy and Sheila (Murphy) Nunes.Lou proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea, had a career in the food service industry, and in later years served as a Chaplain Fellow at BJC Hospital until his retirement.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 4-7 pm with wake service prayers at 6 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Funeral procession from the funeral home on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9:15 am for 10 am committal prayers with Military Honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 302 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Florissant, MO or to The Wounded Warrior Project.
