Louis F. Nelsen Jr

Middletown, RI - Louis F. Nelsen, Jr., 84, of Middletown, RI, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Grand Islander Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Louis was born to Louis F. Sr. and Kathleen C. (Almy) Nelsen on August 9, 1931in Newport, RI.He served in the US Army from 1952-1954. Louis had a long career as an auto mechanic. He later enjoyed working at the Middletown Public Schools and at Bowen's Wharf.He was married to the late Dorothy M. (McCarthy) Nelsen. He was the beloved Dad of Linda Lou Nelsen and the late Lou Ann Nelsen. He is the brother of Gail Ford from Kingman, AZ and the brother-in-law of Barbara Flanders of Everett, WA.Throughout the years, his family included faithful and dearly loved pets. Louis was an avid walker, dedicated Father and found much pleasure traveling with his family. He had a generous heart filled with love for family, friends and animals. His family is sincerely grateful for all the joy those who touched his life gave to him.All services are private.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
