Louis Joseph Durand Jr

Louis Joseph Durand Jr., 43, of Middletown, died June 19 1998 at Newport Hospital. He was the son of Zulmira Almedia Durand and the late Louis Joseph Durand.Mr. Durand Jr. was in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1974 to June of 1975. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1976 to 1977 in Providence and Fall River. Mr. Durand Jr. was an NETC firefighter from 1978 until his retirement in 1994. He graduated in 1973 from Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. He played at Cardines Field and was an avid motorcyclist and billard player in Newport and Fall River. He is preceded in death by his brother Gregory Paul Durand.He is survived by his daughter Lauren Durand, his mother Zulmira Almedia Durand of Somerset, MA, his siblings Edward Durand of Florida and Lorraine Malcuch of Somerset.
