Louis R. Groves

Louis R. Groves, 79, of Newport died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home in Newport, RI. He was the husband of Evelyn H. (Mahoney) Groves for 53 years.Born on April 18, 1936 in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late David W. Ethel M. (Shepherd) Groves. Louis and his wife were very active in the Elks Lodge #104, and he was a past Exalted Ruler of that lodge. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Laurie Sullivan and her husband B. John Sullivan, and his son, Anthony Axiotes Groves, his sister Jean Sayer and her husband and his grandson, Alexander Hunter Groves.At the family's request, funeral services are private.
