MIDDLETOWN, RI - Louis Walker, Jr., 85, of 3 Nicol Terrace Newport, died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.He was the husband of the late Mary F. ?Bai? daCruz Walker. Born in Newport, RI on August 28, 1918, he was the son of the late Louis and Sarah Jackson Walker.Mr. Walker attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of City Taxi until 1973 and the owner and operator of City Auto Body for 43 years, retiring in 1991. Mr. Walker helped his father build the family business at 9-11 Bridge Street, which is now called the Walker Building. He was an avid artist and photographer. He is survived by his son Louis Walker III of Portsmouth, RI, two daughters Frances A. Matthews and Carol Ann Walker both of Newport, RI, three sisters Sarah Pener, Eleanor Keys and Bessie Roberts all of Newport, RI, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at 11:00 AM in the Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
