Newport, RI - Louise I. (Pedro) Quattrucci, 88, of Houston Avenue, Newport, passed away on April 24, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Aldo John Quattrucci, whom she was married to for over 50 years. Born in Newport, RI on May 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frank Pedro and Leonilda L. (Lewis) Girard. A proud native of Newport's 5th Ward, Louise worked for many years as a domestic in private service and gave willingly of her time as a volunteer at many charitable events in her church and community. Louise was a former president of the Parish Guild of St. Augustin's Church in Newport. She was also a strong supporter of student athletes in all of Aquidneck Island's high school athletic programs. Louise also had a keen interest in the Portsmouth High School Marching Band and looked forward to seeing them march each year at the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Newport. Although she was dedicated to her community, nothing compared to the passion she had for her family. She made great effort to bring family and friends together by opening her home and preparing outstanding meals at the holidays and her famous weekly Sunday dinners. Louise enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and was a die-hard New York Yankee and New England Patriots fan. She is survived by her children, Robert C. Quattrucci and his wife Cindy, Aldo J. Quattrucci Jr., Barbara L. Koziara and her husband Jim all of Newport, RI, Carol L. Pascoe and her husband Rick, Donna M. Lunney and her husband Mike of Portsmouth, RI, Patricia A. Michael and her husband Jack of Middletown, RI and Mary L. Callahan and her husband Steve of Newport, RI, and her grandchildren, Scott Koziara, Justin Koziara and Jillian Lunney and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Michael J. Quattrucci and the sister of the late Alberta Pedro.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 9am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St Augustin's Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport, RI.Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown.
