Newport, RI - Louise K. Katter Jackson, 70, of 32 Hall Avenue Newport, died Sunday, May 9, 2004 at Heatherwood Nursing And Subacute Center Newport, RI.She was the wife of Norman Jackson, Sr. Born in Hartsville, SC on August 13, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Priscilla Macillatte Katter. Mrs. Jackson was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 26 years at the Newport Hospital. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter #2 and also past matron. Mrs. Jackson was past secretary of the NAACP and had been affiliated with Mount Zion Church in Newport. She was an avid bowler. Besides her husband she is survived by her stepson Norman Jackson Jr. of Worcester, MA, her niece Stacy Fuller of Charlotte, NC, her grandson Malcom Redfield of Cleveland, OH.She was the sister of the late Edith Toppins and the step grandmother of the late Yvonne Costa.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at 11:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
