Louise Medeiros

Louise Medeiros, 99, of Portsmouth, RI died on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at the Crestwood Nursing Home, Warren, RI. She was the wife of the late Manuel P. Medeiros. Born on May 30, 1916 in Tiverton, RI she was the daughter of Manuel Almas Medeiros and Gloria Medeiros. She grew up in Tiverton and later moved to Portsmouth. She worked for many years as a seamstress in Fall River and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Edward Medeiros and his wife Joanne, Anita Cabral and her husband Joseph and Joan Ouellette and her husband Donald, all of Portsmouth, and Elaine Tierney of Warren. She is also survived by her sister Bella Teixeira of Fall River, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Medeiros, Joseph Almas, Manuel Almas, Antone Medeiros, Frank Medeiros, and Mary Corey Cabral.Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 4 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, at 9:00am from the funeral home, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Anthony's Church, East Main Road, Portsmouth.
