Lt. Evans Kwasi Kissi

Middletown, RI - Lt. Evans Kwasi Kissi, USN, 42, of Middletown, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI.Born in Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana, on September 19, 1971, he was the son of the late Kofi Kissi and Comfort (Pomah) Boateng. He was the husband of Linda Bernice (Manu) Kissi.Lt. Kissi came to the United States as a teenager, graduating from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY. An excellent student his entire life, he continued his education graduating from Columbia University in New York City. Lt. Kissi enlisted in the US Navy in 2012. He was an avid chess player, soccer fan, and enjoyed investing and monitoring the stock market. A devoted and loving father to his little girl, Evania, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.Besides his wife of five years, he is survived by his daughter, Evania Kissi, his grandmother, Hannah Akosua Addai of Ghana, and his sister, Sharon Boateng of Bronx, New York.His funeral will be held on Friday, July 18, at 11:00 AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, Rhode Island.Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
