Lucille Hambly

Lucille Hambly, 86, of Little Compton, RI, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the widow of Clarence E. Hambly.Born in Fall River, Mass, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva Riley Waite.Lucille was employed by many textile mills in Fall River before her retirement in the early 1980s. She enjoyed babysitting all of her great grandchildren, knitting, and sewing, and camping.She is survived by her daughter Beverly P. Borden and her husband Albert W. Borden Jr. of Little Compton, RI, who was her caregiver for the last 2 1/2 years, her brothers Gordon Waite of Fall River, MA, and Clinton Waite of Maryland, formerly of Tiverton, and her grandchildren Albert W. Borden III of Little Compton, RI, Kimberly K. Patton of Tiverton, RI, Krystyna L. Condon of Little Compton, RI, Steven L. Cook II of Little Compton, RI, and Heather Magnuski of Little Compton, RI. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.She is preceded in death by her daughter Judith M. Cook, and her siblings Ray, Everett, and Harold Waite, Mildred Lund, and Doris Belanger.Memorial donations may be made to Little Compton Volunteer Fire Department, 60 Simmons Road, Little Compton, Rhode Island 02837.
