Lucy T. Silvestri

Newport, RI - Lucy T. Silvestri, 75, of Newport, RI, died Sunday, January 25, 2009, at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI, on February 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna Gulgelmo Silvestri.Originally from Newport, Lucy was a graduate of St. Catherines Academy, Class of 1952. Ms. Silvestri moved to California in 1955 and worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell and ATT. She retired in 1994 after a 34 year career. She was also an adventurous world wide traveler. She is survived by a brother Anthony Daniel Silvestri and his wife Priscilla of Middletown, RI, a sister Louise Miller of Newport, RI, nieces Anne Miller of Virginia, Catherine Miller Spero of Portsmouth, RI, Mary Anne Miller Allan of Middletown, RI, Pamela Flint of Middletown, RI, and Kathleen Lonergan of Carlsbad, CA, and nephews Daniel Silvestri of Middletown, RI and John Miller of Arizona, and twelve great nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John P. Silvestri.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, beginning with calling hours from8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
