Newport, RI - Mable Jane Gordon, 81, of 87 Girard Avenue, Newport, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Harry Carter Gordon Sr. Born in Meridian, MS on September 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Inell Atkinson.Mrs. Gordon worked in area Newport Mansions as a housekeeper for many years. She is survived by two sons Edward B. Goodson Jr. and Sidney J. Gordon both of Newport, RI, her daughter Barbara Jean Goodson Spivey of Louisburg, NC, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Harry C. Gordon Jr. Funeral services and burial will be private.Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
