Madeline Andrea

Madeline B Andrea, 93 of the John Clarke Nursing Home, formally of 29 Donna Drive Portsmouth went to join her beloved husband in heaven in the presence of our Lord. Born on February 24, 1919 to the late Frank and Clara (Gonzalves) Medeiros. Madeline lived in Newport until the early 1960s then moving to Portsmouth. She was the wife of the late Herman J Andrea who passed away on June 15, 2012. Herman and Madeline had celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 8, 2012. Madeline enjoyed reading, knitting, jumble puzzles, dancing (right up till her mid 80s), traveling with the Portsmouth Senior Center, playing cards with her friends. She remained physically active, walking, aerobics, and baby-sitting her great grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Barnabas Church, where she was a past member of the Women's Guild. She leaves her daughters: Patricia Warren (Michael) of Portsmouth, RI and Susan Andrea-Rauh of West Dover VT, her son, Peter J. Andrea (Patty) of Sansuma, Fl, her grandchildren: Christine Napier (William), Wendy Bulk (John), Michael Warren (Julie), Kevin Warren, Melanie Warren, Cara Rauh, Teddy Rauh, Terry Rauh, Travis Holmes, and great-grandchildren Jordyn and Ethan Napier, Brendan Bulk, Jaden and Nyah Vanover.She was the mother of the late Carol Andrea and the sister of the late William Medeiros, Joseph Medeiros and Frank Salvador.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 3 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Her funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Barnabas Church, East Main Road, Portsmouth.Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Visiting Nurse Service of Newport and Bristol County, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
