Madeline Leone Riley

Newport, - Madeline Leone Riley, 81, of 37 Prescott Hall Road Newport, died peacefully Sunday, December 22, 2002 at her home.She was the wife of the late Harold E. Riley Sr. Born in New Haven, CT, on January 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Garrison H. and Leone L. West Johnson. Mrs. Riley worked as a Secretary for the Newport Naval Base for thirty years retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star- Queen Esther Lodge #2, were she was Past Worthy Matron and Historian. After her retirement from the naval base she did secretarial work at Community Baptist Church where she was a member. She is survived by one son- Kenneth A. ?Buzz? Riley of Newport, R.I., one step-son-Harold E. Riley Jr., of Silver Springs, MD, one daughter Leslie J. Elston of Alexandria, VA, one Step-daughter Delores ?Lee?Rice of Newport, R.I., Three Grandchildren and 2 Great Grand Children. Mrs. Riley was the Mother of the late Gary S. Riley. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 27, 2002, at 11:00 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
