Mae Ann Ball

Portsmouth, RI - Mae Ann DeCosta Ball, 82, of 29 Thurston Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Arthur A. Ball. Born and raised on the DeCosta Farm in Portsmouth, RI on October 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Viera DeCosta.She enjoyed camping with her family both in a tent and then an R.V. Mae loved good music and going with her husband and family to concerts. She always loved animals, all her life?s passion was her dogs. Her dog ?Brandy was her constant companion. She is survived by her children Arthur A. Ball of Portsmouth, RI, Janet Ann DiRuzzo of Hanahan, SC, and Shirley M. Sullivan of Summerville, SC, and her grandchildren Christopher J. Ball of Portsmouth, RI, Shannon M. DiRuzzo, DVM of Anchorage, AK and Collyn A. Sullivan of Summerville, SC. Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, at 11:00 am in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007, from 6-9 in the funeral home.
