Manuel M. Cordeiro

Middletown, RI - Manuel M. Cordeiro, 71, of 615 Turner Road, Middletown, RI, died on September 9th, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. Born in St. Michael the Azores Portugal, on May 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Manuel Da Camara Cordeiro and Maria Jose Morais Cordeiro.Mr. Cordeiro served in the Army in Portugal before moving to the United States in 1968. He went to work at the Newport Hospital for over 15 years and also operated his own landscaping business. Mr. Cordeiro was a communicant of Jesus Savior church. He enjoyed nothing more then helping people whenever it was needed. He is survived by his son James Cordeiro of Middletown, RI, his daughters Diana Cordeiro of Trumbull, CT, and Nancy Cordeiro of Middletown, RI, his sister Adelina Morgato of Toronto, Canada, two grandchildren and an expected third. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 8:00am, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am, in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.
