Portsmouth, - Manuel Viveiros, Jr., 64, of 50 Robin Road Portsmouth, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.He was the husband of Shirley A McCabe Viveiros. He was born in Portsmouth, RI on January 14, 1939, he is the son of Lillian Morris Viveiros of Middletown and the late Manuel Viveiros. Mr. Viveiros had worked at the Weyerhauser Lumber Company from 1960-1981, retiring as a forman. He was a member of the union and had served as its president. He was also a former member of the Middletown Friends Church and assisted with the construction and later renovations of their current church building. After his retirement from Weyerhauser he became a self employed painting contractor until he retired due to illness in 1998. He and his wife also owned and operated several apartment houses in Newport County. He is survived by his wife Shirley A Viveiros of Portsmouth, RI, his mother Mrs. Lillian Morris Viveiros of Middletown, RI, his son Kevin Viveiros of Denham Spring, LA, two daughters Doreen Eaton of Swansea, MA and Charlene Eggeman of Portsmouth, RI, two sisters Maryanne Barboza of New Bedford, MA and Dorothy Butler of Horne Lake, MI, and five granddaughters Kimberley Eaton, Ashley Eaton, Holly Eaton, Lindsey Eggeman, and Nicole Eggeman. He was the brother of the late John Viveiros and Lydia Viveiros.His funeral will be held on Monday, July 7, 2003, at 10:00 am in the Portsmouth Evangelical Friends Church 11 Middle Road, Portsmouth, RI.
