Marcie Ann Graves

Newport, RI - Marcie Ann Graves, 61, of 232 Maple Avenue, Newport, RI, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. Born in Portsmouth, VA on March 27, 1949, she was the daughter of Mary Stokes Rogers and late Louis Rogers.Mrs. Graves worked for over 30 years at the Navy Exchange on the Newport Navy Base, she also worked at Blenhiem for seven years after retiring from the exchange. She was a member of the Dinosaur Club. She was an avid reader and loved Stephen King and James Patterson novels. Marcie loved needlepoint, crocheting, Sci-Fi movies and going to Newport Grand. She is survived by her children, Eric Rogers of Newport, RI, Tonya Echols of Ft. Myers, FL and Alicia Rogers and her husband Norman Brazier of Newport, RI, her siblings, Louis C. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Nellie of El Paso, TX, Gloria Mitchel- Moss and her husband Walter of St. Louis, MO, Calvin Rogers and his wife Monica of Newport, RI Gwendolyn Bassett and her husband Bobby of Portsmouth, RI, and Yvonne Glover-Coleman and her husband Orlanda of Newport, her grandchildren, Quintin Rogers, Abrianna Echols, Maya Rogers, Norman Brazier, Damien Brazier, Trevor Rogers and Devin Rogers, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends. She was the sister of the late Timothy Lemar Rogers A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 6:00 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be privateAt the request of the family calling hours are omitted.
