Margaraet Rushton Powell

Middletown, RI - Margaret Cacciola Rushton Powell, 83, of Middletown, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Home and Hospice of Rhode Island, Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Cmdr. John Carroll Powell and Robert K. Rushton Sr. Born in Concord, MA on February 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Biagio Paul and Josephine (Rinaldo) Cacciola. Mrs. Powell was a registered nurse for 20 years at Rhode Island Hospital. She was a member of the Horticultural Society, Island Hospice, a volunteer for Literacy of America, Newport Hospital and the Navy Relief Society. She is survived by her children Robert K. Rushton and April E. Rushton-Spaziano of Pawtucket, RI, her siblings Dominic Cacciola of Maine, Mary K. Marshall-Kyller of West Bridgewater, MA, her grandson Robert K. Rushton III and her greyhound "Danny Boy". She was the sister of the late Josephine Byrnes of Lexinton, MA, Pauline Ciovicco of Tewksbury, MA, and Julie Moffitt of Kingston, MA Her services will be private and she will be buried with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.Donations in her memory may be made to www.PotterLeague.org
