Margaret D. Boiani

Margaret D. Boiani, 78, of Portsmouth died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI. Mrs. Boiani was born November 14, 1937 in Pheobus, VA. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Margaret (Hamilton) Moitoza. She was married to Robert J. Boiani for 60 years. Mrs. Boiani worked for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for 11 years, retiring in 1982 as a repair clerk. She was a member of the Middletown Senior Center.Peggy was a bingo enthusiast with her lady friends, Jane, Lorraine and Elaine. She also enjoyed her beloved Red Sox, watching the Food Network, camping and trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii and enjoyed her yearly vacation on Silver Lake in Maine with her family.She is survived by her husband: Robert J. Boiani, one son: Albert L. Boiani and his wife Andrea of Newport, RI three daughters: Ann Marie Greenman and her husband Larry of Portsmouth, RI, Denise Boiani-Moyers and her husband Bill of Texas and Dianne Reed of Newport, RI and also survived by her grandchildren, Justin and wife Jamie, Erin and her husband Anthony, Brian, Nicholas, Matthew, Emma and Billy, as well as three great grandchildren, Gavin, Josclyn and Jaedyn. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2016 from 10 am to 11:30 am in Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway in Newport. Her funeral will be held immediately following at 11:30 in the funeral home.Burial will be at Newport Memorial Park 123 Howland Avenue in Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to HopeHealth Hospice of Rhode Island 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904.
