Margaret Duke

Middletown, RI - Margaret Peggy Ann Duke, 58, of 61 Vernon Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Monday, November 14, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Worcester, MA on June 3, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Francis T. and Margaret Melia Duke. Peggy was a graduate of Worcester City Hospital where she obtained her nursing degree. She has worked at Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA, hospitals in San Diego, and returned to Newport, RI working in shelters and nursing homes. She most recently held a RN position at Forest Farms Nursing Home in Middletown, RI. She is survived by her siblings, John F. Duke of West Harwich, MA, Francis T. Duke, Jr. of Lenox, MA, William E. Duke of Shrewsbury, MA, Mary E. Duke, S.N.D. of Brighton, MA and Thomas P. Duke of Holden, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 9am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport, RI. A reception will follow at St. Johns Evangelist Church, 61 Poplar Street, Newport, RI.
