Hyannis, MA - Margaret Elizabeth Higgins Spero, of 31 Pirates Way, Hyannis, MA, formerly of 65 Second St, Newport, RI, died on Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Cape Regency Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Centerville, MA. She was the wife of the late Vito Joseph Spero. Born in East Millinocket, ME on July 23, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion Gilmore Higgins.Mrs. Spero enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was especially famous for the raspberry jelly she made every fall for her family and friends. When she was not cooking or gardening, there was nothing she liked better than reading a good book. She also enjoyed living on the ?Point? and walks to Battery Park in Newport.She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and Jesus Saviour Church in Newport. She is survived by daughters Carolyn A. Graveline of Hyannis, MA, and Lorraine E. Roley of San Diego, CA, her brother Donald Higgins of Bangor, ME, and her sister JoAnne Harvey of Brewer, ME. She also leaves grandaughters Nancy Graveline of Boston, MA, Noreen Warner of Saugus, CA, Karen Graveline of South Yarmouth , and Kelly Biggs of San Diego, CA. and her great grandchildren Nikki Lynn Warner, Jami Claire Warner, Brooke Warner of Saugus, CA, Kyle Biggs, Brandi Biggs, and Aaron Biggs of San Diego, CA, many nieces and nephews and close friends Charles and Bea Morgan of Portsmouth, RI.She was the sister of the late Charles, Francis, James, and John Higgins, Teresa O?Connor and Joyce Read. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport.
