Margaret Katherine Palkovic

Portsmouth, RI - Margaret Katherine McCarthy Palkovic, 80, of 85 Clearview Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA.She was the wife of Frederick Anthony Palkovic. Born in Fall River, MA, on March 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Monahan McCarthy.Mrs. Palkovic served in the United States Navy, during the Korean Conflict. Margaret worked for the Visiting Nurse of Newport County as a registered nurse from 1966 to 1986. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church, a member of the Rhode Island States Nurses Association, involved with the Boys and Girl Scouts and a member of Truesdale Hospitals Alumni Association. Besides her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her children, Frederick A Palkovic II of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael W Palkovic of Villa Park, CA, Matthew J Palkovic of Middletown, RI and Margaret J. Joyce of Mansfield, MA and eight grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11:00AM, in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
