Middletown, RI - Margaret Martha Thompson, 93, of 600 Valley Road Apt. 217 Middletown, formerly of 12 Bull Street, Newport, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at the John Clarke Nursing Home, Middletown. Born in Bristol, NH on April 22, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Alban Frank and Helen Louise Tuck Thompson.Ms. Thompson was a 1930 graduate of the Plymouth Normal School, now Plymouth State College. While in New Hampshire she was a middle school teacher in Madison, Tilton and Lebonan. She moved to Newport in 1946. She worked for Dr. J. Rice Moody as his dental hygenist for 28 years retiring in 1974. Ms. Thompson was a member of AARP, chairman of the Current Topic Club, a life member of the Rhode Island and the National Dental Hygenist Association. She was an active member of St. Pauls Methodist Church. Over the years she served in a variety of roles, including the Sunshine Womens Club Chair, Sunday School Teacher, and Lay Leader. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2002, at 11:00AM, in St. Paul United Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough Street, Newport. Burial will be Ashland, NH.
