Newport, RI - Margaret Pincince Mercer, 75, of 195 Admiral Kalbfus Road, Newport, RI, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of the late Paul Harry Mercer Sr. Born in Newport, RI, on May 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Rosalphe and Alice Paul Pincince.Mrs. Mercer was a Communicant of St. Josephs Church in Newport. She loved to play the guitar and build puzzles, and was an avid computer fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Mercer was loved and enjoyed being considered Building 8s Nana. She is survived by a son Paul Harry Mercer Jr. and his wife Susan of Newport, RI, a daughter Theresa Tertinek and her fiance Michael Martin of Tiverton, RI, a brother Joseph Pincince of Virginia Beach, VA, a sister Alice McDaniel of Middletown, RI, eight grandchildren Crystal Bettencourt, Jeffrey Mercer, Justine Marchese, Tiffany Marchese, Alexis Tertinek, Shawmere Mercer, Amanda Matthews, and Sean Segerson, five great grandchildren Kaylynn Polley, Kobe Polley, Brianna Segerson, Brayden Segerson, and Jayden Lacasse, an adopted great grandchild Tavion Gatta, an aunt Rita Smith of Newport, RI, and many close friends. She was the granddaughter of the late Frank and Margaret Silvia, and sister of the late Rosalphe Pincince.Funeral services and burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rhode Island Blood Center, 405 Promenade Street, Providence, RI, 02908, or to the charity of ones choice.
