Margaret "Peggy" Rice

Middletown, RI - Margaret Peggy Louise (Paiva) Rice, 74, of Middletown, RI, died on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Newport, RI on August 3, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Pine) Paiva. As a child Peggy grew up in Portsmouth and attended Portsmouth schools. She was a private CNA and worked passionately caring for the elderly and provided them with quality of life. Peggy played bingo every Monday night at the Middletown Knights of Columbus for many years. She was the former wife of Dale Rice and is survived by her children, Keith Rice of West Warwick, RI, Kevin Rice of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Robin Rice-Simms of Chesapeake, VA, her siblings Emery Paiva of Portsmouth, RI, Frank Paiva, Ralph Paiva and Jessie Paiva all of Middletown, RI, Mary Alice Brown of Little Rock, AK, Dorothy Baich of North Port, FL, and Beatrice Davis of Tiverton, RI. Peggy was blessed with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren that filled her life with joy. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late John Paiva and James Paiva.
