Margret Kuse

Margret Ann Ecklund Kuse, 91, of 303 Valley Road # 157 Middletown, formerly of Medford, WI, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Blenheim-Newport Assisted Living, where she had resided for the past 9 months.She was the wife of the late Gordon J. Kuse. Born in Medford, WI on January 10, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Knute and Anna Salzwedel Ecklund.Mrs. Kuse was a graduate of Medford High School and graduated from Wausau Technical College with a Librarian certificate. Prior to her marriage she worked at Suits Drug Store in downtown Medford as a clerk for a period of time. Then she spent 30 plus years working as a librarian at the Medford Public Library. She also assisted her husband in operating Kuses Tavern in Medford for a period of years. She enjoyed playing cards and her card club. Mrs. Kuse was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, WI and a charter member of the Chequameogon Bird Club of Medford, WI. She is survived by two daughters Mary Larson of Newport, RI, and Barbara Jenkins of Walnut, CA, two granddaughters Sharon Ryan and Kimberly McGrory both of North Kingstown, RI, and four great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late George Ecklund, Bill Ecklund, Gilbert Ecklund, Harold Ecklund, Richard Ecklund, Robert Ecklund, Marcella Hagen and Stella Dietze.Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford, WI.Donations in her memory may be made to the Medford Public Library, 400 North Main Street, Medford, WI 54451.
