Newport, RI - Marguerite ?Marge? Cox Regan, 79, of Weatherly Avenue, Newport, RI, formerly of Bethpage, NY, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Patrick J. Regan. Born in the Bronx, NY on August 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late James and Hannah Gilleran Cox. Mrs. Regan was a currator in the library at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She had also worked at JC Penney. She was a member of St. James Rosary Society of Seaford, NY, a former CCD teacher, and a communicant of St. Lucy?s Church in Middletown, where she was also a member of its bereavement group and the Legion of Mary. She is survived by her children, Regina Jones and her husband George of Newport, RI, Robert Regan and his wife Elizabeth of Bethpage, NY, Andrew Regan and his wife Krista of Jamestown, RI, Thomas Regan and his wife Marie of Narragansett, RI and Theresa Regan-Gordon of Brooklyn, NY, her siblings, Mary Lacombe of Hillsdale, NJ, Sr. Hannah Marie Cox, P.B.V.M. of Howard Beach, NY, Msgr. James Cox of Bainbridge, NY, John Cox of Morristown, NJ, Thomas Cox of Belle Harbor, NY and Gloria Staubach of Monroe, NY, her grandchildren, Kristine, Megan and Katie Jones, Kerrie, Matthew, Maggie, Mollie, Maura, Madelyn, Jennifer and Patrick Regan and Daniel Gordon, and her great grandchildren Aliyah and Julien Jones. She was the mother of the late Vincent Regan. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 10:15 am in St. James Roman Catholic Church, 80 Hicksville Road, Seaford, NY.Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 5-8pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, and also Wednesday, January 24, 2007 from 5-9 pm in the O?Shea Funeral Home, 603 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh, NY.
