Maria Machado Mullen

Maria D. Machado Mullen, 81, of 2 Weaver Street, Fall River, MA, formerly of Newport, RI, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the home of her son, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John James Mullen.Born in Portugal, on December 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Eltivinia Souza Machado.Mrs. Mullen was a creative homemaker. She was a fantastic cook, and loved sewing. Nothing made her happier then providing for her children and family.She is survived by her children, John G. Mullen of Charleston, SC, Christopher P Mullen of Fall River, MA, Irene Cookie Moser and her husband Larry of Middletown, MD and Renee Rego and her husband Richie of Fall River, MA, fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren, a daughter in law Linda Mullen of Bristol, RI along with a sister in Germany, a brother and sister in Portugal, and a brother and sister in Canada. She was the mother of the late Michael Mullen of Bristol, RI. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010, from 4:00-8:00, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010, at 9:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home.
