Maria Mary Medeiros

Portsmouth, RI - Maria Mary Medeiros, 91, of 33 Freeborn Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of Joseph Jesse Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI. Born in Fall River, MA on May 25, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Jose Pedro and Serafina Araujo Medeiros. Mrs. Medeiros worked as a floor supervisor at the former M G Sportswear and James Sportswear. Mary was a communicant of St. Anthony?s Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with her husband. Mrs. Medeiros and her family always participated with the St. Anthony?s Feast. Mary loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Besides her husband of 66 years, she is survived by her children, Geraldine M. Grondin of Westport, MA and Patricia A. Souza and her husband William Souza of Tiverton, RI, her brother Raymond Medeiros of Tiverton, RI, her sisters Laura Medeiros of Portsmouth, RI, and Deolinda Jean Galego of Fall River, MA, her granddaughter Wendy M. Grondin Silvia of Westport, MA, and her great grandchildren Michaela M. Silvia, Samuel S. Harstad and Gabriel P. Harstad all of Westport, MA. She was the sister of the late Gabriel Medeiros and Joseph Medeiros. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Pocassett Hill Cemetery in Tiverton.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006, from 3-7 in the Connors Funeral Home.
