Maria Silva

Maria M. (Machado) Silva, previously of East Main Road, Portsmouth RI, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Antonio P. DaSilva.

Born in Cedros, Fayal, Azores on August 5, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Manuel F. and Francisca (Lacerda) Machado.

Maria was a seamstress her whole life and was previously employed at the Newport Hospital and Polo Cleaners.

She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Silva and Margaret of Middletown; her daughter Rosemarie Silva Tenenbaum and her husband, Vlad Tenenbaum of Portsmouth and her grandchildren, Amy Silva Tenenbaum, of Portsmouth, and Mark Silva Tenenbaum (Claudia) of North Andover, MA.

Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, with visitation at 10:00am at St Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Rd., Portsmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00am in the church. Burial will be private.
